Parrot Surrender Application

If you are concerned a parrot is in distress, being neglected, or being abused, please contact PAWS Ontario at 1-833-926-4625.

The Friends of the Aviary accepts surrendered parrots on a case-by-case basis, depending on urgency and available resources. Every application is reviewed carefully, and if we are able to accept your parrot(s) into our foster program, a volunteer will contact you with next steps.

⚠️ Important Notes

• We can only accept parrots surrendered by their legal owner, by a rescuer (e.g., found bird), or an animal rescue organization. Permission needs to be given to transfer the bird to our organization.
• Response times may take up to 4 weeks. In times of high volume, we may only respond to those we are able to accept.
• If you need urgent support, please contact your local Animal Services Department or SPCA.
• Please add helpwithmybird@hamiltonaviary.ca to your safe sender's list/email contacts so our messages don't go to your spam or junk folder.

Privacy & Consent

By completing this form, you consent to:

• The Friends of the Aviary collecting and storing the information you provide.
• Our volunteers contacting you for more details or with next steps if we can accept your parrot(s).
• Limited sharing of your parrot's details (not your personal details) with veterinarians or rescue partners as needed.

Your name and contact information will only be shared if:

• An animal is being abused or neglected.
• A child is being abused or neglected.
• You are imminently going to harm yourself or someone else.
